Lower prices of imported tomatoes in 2008

In 2007 average price of imported tomatoes was 1.09 EUR/kg. During first four months of 2007 this price was higher and was at the level of 1.20 EUR/kg.

In comparison with the same period of this year import price of tomatoes decreased to 0.94 EUR/kg. Average price of tomatoes from Spain, which has the highest share in the import, was 0.87 EUR/kg. Price of tomatoes imported from Germany was 0.80 EUR/kg, and from Turkey 1.01 EUR/kg.
