Małopolski region of Poland - high root prices

Prices of carrots and especially parsley are very high. Parsley is even more expensive here than in the centre and north of Poland. Prices of celery are relatively high (compared to the average in this phase of the season). In general, it is so expensive that prices are beginning to negatively affect demand. Exporters in particular have a problem, as the Polish market is more expensive in this segment than in other countries of the region. On the other hand, due to low harvests and shortages in supply, it is difficult to count on a reduction of these prices.

At present, the prices of root vegetables in the Małopolski Region of Poland are as follows:

- the area of Igołomi (producer prices):

brushed carrots 0,26 EUR/kg,

washed beet 0,10 EUR/kg,

parsley washed 1,05 EUR/kg.

- the area of Tropiszów (purchase prices):

brushed carrot brushed 0,26 EUR/kg,

washed beet 0,10 EUR/kg,

celery washed 0,33 EUR/kg,

parsley washed 1,05 EUR/kg,

Parsnip washed 0,70 EUR/kg.

- the area of Cracow:

brushed carrot 0,26 - 0,28 EUR/kg,

young beet 0,12 - 0,14 EUR/kg,

washed celeriac 0,35 - 0,42 EUR/kg,

parsley washed 1,05 - 1,16 EUR/kg.
