Moscow: significant increase in prices of cucumber from Spain

Significant price increase of cucumber imported from Spain was recorded in the middle of the last week. Increase in prices of cucumbers had been observed for few weeks. Last week prices grew from 70-75 rubles (1.74-1.87 euro) to 110-120 rubles (2.74-2.99 euro) per kg. However, by the end of the week cucumbers prices fell slightly to 105-115 rubles (2.61-2.86 euro) per kg.

These price changes are due to New Year holidays and as a consequence, increased demand for fruit and vegetables and increasing transportation costs due to the lack of this type of service.
