Poland: Amandine strawberries, the star of Planasa's cultivation forum

Their explanations were complemented with the expertise of technicians invited from some other of the sector's leading companies, who presented strategies for the plant's development, the latest cultivation systems and tools, and suitable substrates for off-ground cultivation.

Amandine, the great protagonist
The new varieties for continental climates presented by the company last year, Dream and Deluxe, attracted the visitors' attention, but the Amandine was the true star of the show. This remontant variety, which has received awards in Poland for its high productivity and quality, is characterised by an excellent flavour, strong skin and firm pulp. It also guarantees a long shelf life and good preservation during transport.

These characteristics have turned the Amandine into a favourite amongst growers in northern Europe, as they manage to obtain good business results with a single variety between May and October. Additionally, its tolerance to oidium is superior than that of other remontant varieties.
