Poland: export of chinese cabbage
Of course Polish Chinese cabbage is imported to the Western Europe but current situation is quite specific. Supply of Chinese cabbage in Holland is low. This is why Dutch importers buy Polish one and what is more they re-export vegetables. It doesn't happen each year.
It means that not only Holland have problems with supply of Chinese cabbage. Also Germany and Spain "suffer" from lack of vegetable.
In Poland export prices are at the level of 1.80 - 2.20 PLN/ kg, depending on size and package. In Holland Polish chinese cabbage is offered by Dutch exporters at price of 6.00 6.80 EUR / 10 kg (2.51 - 2.84 PLN/ kg at current exchange rate). Dutch Chinese cabbage is available at the price of 9.50 - 11.50 EUR/ 8 pieces (4.97 - 6.01 PLN/ piece). Also Portugese one is more expensive than Polish and cost 8.50 - 9.00 EUR/ 8 kg.
Wholeasle prices of Polish vegetable in Moscow are at the level of 33.00 - 40.00 RUB / kg.
