Poland: heavy rain and hail damaged cultivations of strawberries

Cultivations of strawberries were adversely affected by heavy rain and hail last weekend. It resulted in damaged fruits and serious flooding of some plantations what can cause in consequence further stopping of harvest and spoiling of fruits.

Rainfalls which started on Wednesday last week already caused that prices of strawberries started increasing again. At the moment the price of strawberries is above 5 PLN (1.27 euro)/2 kg.
