Poland: lower export of apples

The second half of August brought lower export of apples to Russia. The smaller demand for Polish apples on the Russian market influenced the prices of apples of early varieties.

The price of such varieties like Paula Red and Delikates (size 70 +, in cartons) decreased from 1.20 PLN (0.29 euro)/kg to 0.90 – 1.00 PLN (0.22-0.24 euro)/kg. When prices are at such low level the consecutive decreases considerably influence the profitability of apples production.
