Poland pays highest prices for Spanish cucumbers

The five largest importers were Germany, with 210,660 tonnes at 0.81 Euro/kilo; the Netherlands, 76,450 tonnes at 0.85 Euro/kilo; the UK, 58,370 tonnes at 0.84 Euro/kilo; France, 40,420 tonnes at 0.88 Euro/kilo; and lastly, Poland, which as already stated purchased 25,880 tonnes, paying 0.92 Euro/kilo.

Spain obtained a total of 464,342,047 Euro from the export of 544,980 tonnes, resulting in an average price of 0.85 Euro/kilo.

38.65% of the cucumbers exported were shipped to Germany, which received a total 210,660 tonnes. The second largest importer was the Netherlands, with 76,450 tonnes (14.03%), followed by the UK, with 58,370 tonnes (10.71%); France, with 40,420 tonnes (7.42%) and Poland, with 25,880 tonnes (4.75%).

The average price paid by all EU countries was of 0.84 Euro/kilo, while exports to non-EU destinations reached an average price of 1.02 Euro/kilo.

Provinces
By provinces, the largest exporter was Almeria, with 361,250 tonnes (66.29% of the total), which obtained an average of 0.81 Euro/kilo. In second place is Granada, with 65,080 tonnes (11.94%) at an average price of 0.93 Euro/kilo, followed in third place by Valencia, with 32,990 tonnes (6.05%) at an average of 1.06 Euro/kilo.
