Poland: strawberries season has already started

At the moment mainly growing under protections, but there are more and more of domestic strawberries on the market. However in many cases the quality is not very satisfied especially regards the size and one can observe a lot of small fruits.

It is a result of unfavorable weather and we have to still wait for large and good quality strawberries. But quickly growing supply results in fast decrease in prices. Last week the price was 15 – 17 PLN (3.12-3.88 euro)/2 kg, but on Tuesday, May 19, the price decreased already to 9 – 10 PLN (2.05-2.28 euro)/2 kg. If a few sunny, warm days come after last rainfalls, one can expect faster growth and rise in the supply of strawberries.
