Prices of domestic and imported tomatoes

Season for domestic tomatoes is slowly ending. One can observe lower supply of the product and poorer quality. It is difficult to buy bigger lots of good quality, well coloured tomatoes and as a result their prices are higher. On Monday, November 15 the price of B tomatoes was 28-30 PLN (7.11-7.61 euro)/6 kg and price of BB tomatoes was 32-34 PLN (8.12-8.63 euro)/6 kg. The price of tomatoes of poorer quality was by 2 PLN (0.51 euro)/box lower.

On the Polish market the supply of imported tomatoes is bigger every week, however really great supply of such tomatoes will appear in one or two weeks. So far Polish tomatoes are cheaper than Spanish or better than those imported from Morocco. On Monday price of Moroccan tomatoes was 26-28 PLN (6.60-7.11 euro)/6 kg but their quality is poor. The price of Spanish tomatoes was 36 PLN (9.14 euro)/6 kg.
