Prices of strawberries

At the end of the week prices of strawberries growing under protection slightly increased. On Friday, June 5 in the afternoon prices ranged from 3 to 5 PLN (0.66-1.10 euro)/2 kg, while earlier it was 2.5-3 PLN (0.55-0.66 euro)/2kg.

Growing prices are a result of bad weather and decreasing supply of strawberries. The price of field strawberries is higher due to their better quality and stronger interest in such strawberries. On Friday the price of such strawberries was from 4 up to 10 PLN (0.88-2.20 euro)/2 kg. The price of high quality strawberries intended for export is also higher. On Friday the wholesale price of such strawberries was 2.50-3.50 PLN (0.55-0.77 euro)/kg.
