Sharp drop in Polish tomatoes prices

At the beginning of the week prices of domestic tomatoes again dropped. On Monday, April , the price of tomatoes BB size was 34-38 PLN (8.44-9.43 euro)/6 kg while last week the price was 50-60 PLN (12.41-14.89 euro)/6 kg. Such huge decrease in price was caused by rapidly growing supply of tomatoes and the fact that until last week retail chains did not start selling Polish tomatoes what caused some kind of oversupply of the product. As a result prices went down significantly and they became competitive. And now it is expected that domestic tomatoes will appear in retail chains.
