The supply of red onion is low and one has to still wait for bumper crop of this vegetable. The harvest of onion of earlier varieties is rather low.
On Tuesday, August 31, the selling price of red onion in trading companies was from 1.50 PLN (0.37 euro)/kg in łódzkie province to 1.80 PLN (0.45 euro)/kg in mazowieckie province. On the local wholesale markets prices are stable: from 2.50 PLN (0.62 euro)/kg in Lublin to even 3.00-4.00 PLN (0.75-1.00 euro)/kg in Warsaw market in Bronisze.
