Tomatoes for processing: production below the profitability

According to data of IERiGŻ-PIB, crops at the level of 37.5 t/ha and prices about 0.12 EUR/kg do not provide profitability of the production of tomatoes for processing. This year prices obtained by producers will cover the production costs only in 83 %.

Data shows that only in 2005, prices of tomatoes for processing were higher by 13 % than their total production costs.
