What is the situation on the wholesale potato market in the central Poland?
The second week of November did not bring about any significant changes in potato prices on the Polish large wholesale market. This was not supported by the extended weekend, but also by the fact that there were no significant changes that would change the balance between supply and demand.
Prices of potatoes in the large wholesale market were on the rise in the previous weeks and now remain stable. Their increase resulted in slightly more sales offers on the market, but on the other hand the demand remains at a fairly good level for this phase of the season. Of course, there would not be such prices at present (in the range of 2,09 EUR - 2,56 EUR per bag), if it was not for convincing market participants that it will be even more expensive later on.
Prices of potatoes in the large wholesale outlets in the Łódź, Wielkopolskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie regions were as follows:
Łódzki region of Poland:
- The region of Sieradz - yellow and red potatoes 1,98 - 2,09 EUR/ sack 15 kg depending on variety, size and quality,
- surroundings of Błaszki - yellow and red potatoes 1,86 - 2,09 EUR/ bag 15 kg,
- Near Warta - yellow and red potatoes 1,89- 2,09 EUR / sack 15 kg,
- Around Łódź - 2,09 - 2,56 EUR/bag 15 kg, on the "Zjazdowa" exchange - 2,33 - 3,26 EUR/bag 15 kg.
Wielkopolski region of Poland:
- around Kalisz -1,86 - 2,33 EUR/ 15 kg bag, on the stock exchange 2,09 - 2,33 EUR/ 15 kg sack,
- Near Poznań - 2,09 - 2,79 EUR/ sack 15 depending on variety, calibre and quality, on the WGRO exchange - 2,33 - 3,26 EUR/bag 15 kg,
- surroundings of Środa Wlkp. - yellow potatoes 1,98 - 2,21 EUR/ sack 15 zł/kg, red potatoes 2,09- 2,21 EURł/ sack 15 kg,
