Holland: export of onion in 39th week of 2013
It is 29 thousand tones less in comparison to season 2012/2013. Last season export started two weeks earlier and this is why 231 thousand tones was exported from 28th to 39th week of 2012.
According to data given by PT/KCB the volume of onion exported from Holland in 39th week of 2013 (from 23 to 29 September) came to 14 thousand tones. The biggest receivers were: Great Britain, Senegal and Belgium.
As it is showed in a chart below it was a very poor week for onion exporters who think that such situation is caused by huge competition in main regions in the world: Morocco, China and Brazil (which bought a lot of Dutch onion last year). What is more Russia doesn’t buy much.
