The most valued by the market is the Daniela, with almost 0.85 Euro/kilo, followed closely by the Green Daniela and pear tomatoes, both standing at around 0.75 Euro/kilo. At the other end of the scale, vine tomatoes were the only variety dropping in price, reaching an average of 0.65 Euro/kilo.
Cucumbers are also in a slightly better situation compared to the previous week, as both the Almeria and the Spanish varieties have increased in price. The former closed the week at around 0.42 Euro/kilo, while the latter remains at around 0.35 Euro/kilo. The only variety in a worse situation was the French, which barely surpassed the 0.20 Euro/kilo.
The situation for striped aubergines was already bad, and this week nothing has improved, as their price has dropped to 1 Euro/kilo. Meanwhile, long aubergines have been given some breathing space, reaching average prices of almost 0.45 Euro/kilo.
Regarding courgettes, demand is still rather low, which is also causing prices to stay low. Both the thin and thick varieties remained below the 0.25 Euro/kilo, while white courgettes still stand at around 0.30 Euro/kilo. Prices are not expected to improve in the coming days as the winter production is coming to an end.
As for the situation of peppers, there is some disparity in prices. The red and green Italian and the green Lamuyo have all reached better levels this week, with the former standing at around 1.14 and 1.53 Euro/kilo respectively and the latter reaching almost 0.90 Euro/kilo. Meanwhile, yellow, red and green bell peppers oscillated between 0.40 and 0.77 Euro/kilo, while the yellow and red Lamuyo have fallen below the 1 Euro/kilo.
Lastly, where green beans are concerned, the Strike is the one in the best position with average prices above the 3 Euro/kilo, followed by the long Perona, standing at around the 2.80 Euro/kilo. On the other hand, both the Helda and the red Perona have seen their value drop this week, down to 1.83 and 1.89 Euro/kilo respectively.
