Tomato harvest going well in Central and Eastern Europe

According to the German Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI), products from Spain, Morocco and Turkey can sufficiently cover the demand on the European markets and Russian market.


The early spring with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures is also noticeable with the start of the production in Central and Eastern Europe. France can increasingly rely on their own products but even Great Britain and Poland are supplying the local markets with their own tomatoes. The increasing harvest quantities in the Benelux are having more influence on the market. In the Netherlands as well as Belgium the supply is getting larger. Due to this the price at auction fell at the beginning of last week.
