The purchase of industrial apples continues in Poland. At what prices and does anyone else talk about intervention buying?
Purchase of industrial apples is in the process, although from moment to moment it changes its mode from autumn to winter. The apple harvest is over and what is left under the trees is either not harvested at all or is harvested literally on the run. However, in the majority of orchards this year's season is over, and this slowly translates into the supply of commercial fruit.
As traders say, it is getting calmer, but it has no impact on the price. In Mazovia region of Poland for a long time the prices of ordinary industrial apples have been oscillating between 1,80 and 2,8 eurocents per kilogram, and in most cases the prices have stabilized at the level of 2,3 eurocents per kilogram. Similar prices are in force in Łódzki region. In the Lublin region for "ordinary" industrial apples prices range from 2,1 to 2,8 eurocents per kilogram, where many companies pay fruit growers over 2,3 eurocents per kilogram, and in the area of Sandomierz from 1,9 to 2,8 eurocents per kilogram.
In addition to the usual industrial apples, many companies buy various types of apples for NFC juices or puree, and here prices vary greatly depending on the variety. Golden Delicious apples for juices are bought for 2,5 - 4,0 eurocents/kg, Idared apples for juices or puree are 3,0 - 3,5 eurocents per kilogram, and apples for juices of mixed varieties for 2,3 - 3,3 EUR/kg. Organic industrial apples can be disposed of at a price of about 8,1- 9,3 eurocents per kilogram.
What about intervention buying? There is still a list of buying-in, there are preliminary declarations as well, but for most of them the list is over. As the traders from Mazovia region say, in order to buy apples with these quality restrictions and in such quantities they would have to keep additional accounts in order to control it, and it does not pay off completely. Today, however, there is a company whose declarations are very advanced. A trader (from the area of Opole Lubelskie) confirmed that he is at the last stage of signing the contract and that from 1 December he plans to buy apples at a price of 6,5 eurocents per kilogram, of course, from the fruit growers registered in the queue.
